Support Us

There are many ways you can support Milton Keynes Mind.

  • Could you make a donation or  fill in a Standing Order form to make a regular payment and return it to us?
  • Could you make use of online purchasing companies which give us a donation for everything that you buy?
  • Would you like to hold an event to raise funds for us?
  • If you are a company could you sponsor us, like Moocat Studios?
  • Could you volunteer your time to help us in our work?

There is a huge range of ways that you can support Milton Keynes Mind, many of which will take little or no effort on your part and will cost you nothing! These might include simply changing the search engine you use, clicking a link to buy things from websites or signing up for a free trial (and some of the things you can try are pretty good, such as a month of free DVD’s delivered to your door).

Other things that can help might be undertaking an event to raise money, supporting the organisation through volunteering to help out at an event or making a regular donation to the charity – all the money that we raise through fundraising goes directly to supporting people in our community at the times they need it most.

Some of the existing ways you can help support us include:

Online shopping

We have two website that we use to support us through people simply buying the things that they usually do, but clicking through from one of these sites – this means that the shops you buy for pay us a ‘commission’ for directing you there (this can range from 2 – 25% of the cost of your shopping). One person raised over £50 simply doing their Christmas shopping through these sites and had all the presents delivered to their door.

The two sites are:

http://www.buy.at/mkmind (simply go to this web address and then select the type of shopping you are interested in), or;

http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/mkmind (where you will need to register, but can then choose from a HUGE range of shops and other services). This website also has a ‘raise money for free’ link, where you can agree to sign up for trials and raise money – easy fundraising indeed.

Another way you can help is to let other charities know about easyfundraising. I know that this sounds like we’re cutting our own supply off, but actually if people go through http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/referral/2290 then they can start raising funds and we get some too, as we have directed them there. That way, everyone’s quids in!

Search Engines

The sister site of easyfundraising is http://mkmind.easysearch.org.uk/ - this is a search engine where you raise about 2p for every search you undertake. Whist this doesn’t sound much, if everyone did 10 searches a week, it soon adds up!

There are a large range of other similar providers – if you find one you like and we’re not listed, let us know and we can get registered there.

 Ebay

You can support Milton Keynes Mind every time you sell on ebay and save some listing fees too.

When you list an item, you can choose to donate a certain percentage of the final selling price to charity – usually there are a couple of options or you can click ‘select another charity’ – you can choose us there.

Scrap Cars

Fed up of the heap on the driveway? Got a neighbour who wants to get rid of that old banger? Don’t pay for someone to collect it – let us know and we can arrange for it to be collected within a week (usually less) at NO COST and raise money through ‘Give A Car’. These lovely people will arrange for the collection, destruction certificate and will recycle as much as possible with a percentage coming to us (an average of £80 per scrap car). You can check this out at:

http://www.giveacar.co.uk/donate-a-car-to-charity/milton-keynes-mind or ring 020 0011 1664 and let them know that Milton Keynes Mind sent you!

Regular donations

Standing orders are an excellent way to support us with little effort and you can also be pleased that if you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim ‘Gift Aid’* on your donations, increasing every pound you donate by 28p (so if you were to donate £10 each month for a year, we would be able to get £33.60 from the government).

You can find the forms at www.mkmind.org.uk/donations.asp

*we can claim Gift Aid on ANY donation, so if regular giving isn’t for you, but you’d like to help, you can download the Gift Aid declaration at the website above and send it along with your donation.

You can also make a ‘one off’ donation via text through Just Text Giving. To do this, you simply text ‘MKMD01’ and then the amount you wish to donate, with the £ sign. So to donate £5, you would write a text to say ‘MKMD01 £5’ and send it to 70070.

Other Supporters

Want a really, really nice picture of your loved one, in a modern style? Want something different for a present? You can check out http://www.moocatstudio.co.uk/, who can provide you with something truly original and will donate a percentage of all commissions to Milton Keynes Mind. They are lovely people and do some excellent stuff AND then support our work – brilliant.

If you work for a company or think that there is an area of our work you would like to sponsor (for example, an estate agency sponsoring rental costs for the counselling service), please contact us.

Regular Events

We hold regular fundraising events throughout the year – everything from the London to Brighton Bike Ride to Quiz Nights, Auctions, concerts – something for everyone. Keep an eye on the website for details of something happening soon.
