Craft Group
Milton Keynes Mind runs a weekly Craft group based at York House in Stony Stratford.
The group is informal and relaxed with the emphasis on "having a go". No previous knowledge is required but if you have some skills why not come and pass them on to the rest of the group!
Types of crafts we have taken part in recently include:
Glass painting
- Sewing
- Salt dough modelling
- Papier mache
- Beadwork
- Christmas wreaths and decorations
The group has recently been involved in the exotic mk art project along with artist Francoise Dupre and the Milton Keynes Gallery. This used the French knitting technique to create a wide range of coloured fabrics and wools which were then transformed into abstract forms and colourful patterns.
The project included groups from Age Concern and the Healthy Lifestyle Project. The exhibition was displayed at thecentre:mk during July and August 2009 and was very well received. We are looking for funding in the future to allow Milton Keynes Mind to run other art and craft delivery projects.
