Christmas is coming....

Christmas Fundraising - Some ideas

At home or on your own

  1. The Advent challenge - donate £1 to MK Mind throughout Advent. By Christmas Eve you will be able to give MK Mind a £24 donation or more if you ask other people to join you in the Advent challenge.
  2. Cardless Christmas - instead of sending Christmas cards, donate the money that you would have spent to MK Mind.
  3. Fundraising wrapped up - offer to wrap your friends’ presents in exchange for a donation.
  4. Sponsored New Year’s resolution - by asking people to sponsor you to keep your New Year’s resolution, this year you will be committed to seeing it through.

  5. At work, school or with friends

  6. Not-so-secret Santa - instead of creating a Secret Santa with your friends or work colleagues, donate the money that you would have spent to MK Mind.
  7. Guess the weight of the Christmas cake - ask family, friends, and work colleagues to give a donation to MK Mind in return for the chance to guess the weight of the cake.
  8. Dodgy Christmas Jumper Day - instead of a dress down day at work or school, hold a ‘Dodgy Christmas Jumper Day’ where tacky jumpers are a must.
  9. Quizmas time - hold a Christmas-themed quiz at your work, school or local pub. We can help with questions..

    Christmas events

  10. Mulled wine and mince pie evening - host an evening (or coffee morning) where guests are encouraged to give a Christmas donation to MK Mind.
  11. Carol singing - carol singing is fun, but remember if you’re holding this event on private land, such as in a shop, you will need the owner’s permission. If you’re carol singing in a public place contact the local authority first. Why not approach your local school or church and ask if they will let you hold a collection for Mind at the end of their carol service or nativity?
  12. Christmas craft fair - set up a stall in a local Christmas craft fair and sell cupcakes, handmade cards or even home-made jewellery.
  13. Christmas party - raise money through dance and karaoke competitions, with prizes for the best fancy dress. Hold a raffle and ask for donations to kiss under the mistletoe!
